DANIEL C. SCHINLER, PE

Dan Schinler has been working in the engineering and construction industry since 1996.
Most recently, Dan has been working closely with design firms across the country to
adopt and implement the Autodesk
Building Information Modeling (BIM) software, Revit
Structure. Dan has taught classes on Revit Architecture and Structure, given 4-day
seminars to over 20 engineering firms, and helped write the courseware for Revit
Structure 2010.   In addition, he has been designing building structures since 2001, first
in the greater Chicagoland area and now in New England.

His project work includes the full structural design and documentation of
institutional,
commercial and industrial buildings, as well as lateral design of custom homes in high
wind and hurricane prone coastal regions.

Prior to working as a structural engineer, Dan spent over three years working for a
precast concrete manufacturer in Denver CO, occupying positions in manufacturing,
sales, estimating, and engineering. He has prepared cost and construction schedule
estimates for multi-million dollar precast concrete projects including, office buildings,
parking garages, and stadium structures. In addition, he has developed standard
practices for precast/prestressed concrete systems, connection design and detailing.

Dan holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from Marquette University in
Milwaukee, Wisconsin. As part of his graduate studies, he conducted research funded by
the National Science Foundation to develop and implement an automated design
procedure used to optimize steel-framed structures. This work has been published in the
Journal of Structural Engineering, American Society of Civil Engineers. Dan continues to
write magazine articles and whitepapers for clients.  He is a registered professional
engineer in Wisconsin and Rhode Island, as well as a  member of ASCE and ACI.
