DESCRIPTION
Construction was completed early in 2009 for the Pell
Marine Science Library of the University of Rhode Island's
Graduate School of Oceanography (GSO). Erik Nelson
was project manager of this building while employed with
Odeh Engineers.
The steel framed structure featured many step backs and
cantilevers with horizontal bands of windows at the floor
levels. This required significant detailing at the brick
relieving angles and headers. There is an large two-story
glass curtain wall at the entrance vestibule for views
overlooking the water.
