DESCRIPTION
This concept was a minimalist box, a glass rectangular volume with
exposed steel members hugging the ventilation towers of the Lincoln
tunnel. This box had exteriors cut into it and walkways, bridges, and
patios cantilevered within. The entrance vestibules consisted of free
spanning arched round tubes supporting segmented glass. The
existing pier was reused, which made the engineering quite a
challenge.
